Portsmouth Historical Society Thanks Greenvale Vineyards
Last week, Portsmouth Historical Society President Jim Garman presented a letter to Nancy Parker Wilson, owner of Greenvale Vineyards, thanking her and her husband, Bill Wilson, for hosting the Historical Society Harvest Social fundraiser in October, which raised over $2000.
The letter read, in part:
“The Portsmouth Historical Society is very grateful for your hosting our Fall Fundraising Party on 14 October. We had very positive feedback for the location, and especially the wine, from those attending.
We also appreciated Bill’s talk on Greenvale’s history (sorry we didn’t give him enough time). That added HISTORY to the occasion…
We are also very pleased once again with your tremendous community support for all organizations. It (Greenvale) is a very comfortable venue for exactly the type of event that we had.”
Accompanying the letter was a $200 donation made “by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors “, in partial compensation for the wine that Greenvale provided during the fundraiser.
The Portsmouth Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and promoting Portsmouth’s rich history and the funds raised by this annual event support the many lectures and other educational programs hosted by the Society throughout the year. Greenvale Vineyards is a corporate member and sponsor of the Society and the historic venue of choice for Society social events.
