February 19 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The Portsmouth Historical Society is hosting its 8th Annual Portsmouth History Trivia Night on Thursday February 19, 2026. This year the event will be held at Montaup Country Club. The clubhouse was originally the homestead of William A. Chase and dates to the 18th century!
The contest will begin at around 7 PM. Groups are welcome to bring their own food. Drinks will be available for purchase.
Every seat was taken during a fun and challenging competition in 2025! Seating is limited to 125. Book now!
To register, email phsinfo@portsmouthhistorical.org and provide your team name, number of team members, and a contact number. Teams should consist of 4 to 6 players but we’re happy to pair you up with other history nerds.
Emceeing again this year is Joe Cassady, Portsmouth High School’s own AP history teacher. Joe’s quick-wit and energetic style as master of ceremonies provides an evening of fun for the contestants and the audience.
A suggested donation of $10.00 per table is requested and will be collected on the night of the event.
All trivia questions are focused on Portsmouth’s rich history and includes a diverse selection of questions relating to individuals, art, landmarks, weather-events and more. Resources to brush up on Portsmouth’s history can be found here.
