The Gulf Stream Bar & Grille building itself is a part of Portsmouth’s history. The restaurant, located at 1 Lagoon Rd Portsmouth, is housed in an original Quonset Hut built in 1942 as part of the US Navy’s Melville PT-Boat Training Center (attended by then LT John F. Kennedy). The space was converted into a restaurant over 30 years ago and began operation as The Gulf Stream Bar & Grille in 2016.
