Portsmouth Arts Guild & Historical Society Celebrate Rhode Island Landmarks
In collaboration with the Portsmouth Historical Society, the Portsmouth Arts Guild is showing-off beautiful and historical Rhode Island.
For the month of August the Guild will be featuring works by local artists of selected landmarks of Rhode Island. Art is in a variety of media and will be displayed at the Guild Gallery at 2679 East Main Road, the Portsmouth the Historical Society at 870 East Main Road, Common Fence Point Hall at 933 Anthony Road and Greenvale Vineyards at 582 Wapping Road, all in Portsmouth.
Some of the landmarks showcased are The Rhode Island State House, the Touro Synagogue in Newport, Greenvale Winery, the Superman Building, Glen Farm, Friends Evangelical Meeting House and Prescott Farm. The show will run from August 4th to August 27th during open hours for each location and all works will be for sale at reasonable prices.
The show kicks-off with a shared opening celebration with the Abstractions show at the Guild Gallery, 2679 East Main Road, on Friday, August 4th from 6pm to 8 pm.
Artists who contribute work to the Landmarks Show will participate in a live Paint Out at the Portsmouth Historical Society grounds on Sunday, August 6th from 2pm to 5 pm. The public is invited to watch the artists at work. The artists will have more of their own work on hand for show and sale.
