In the past, our farming ancestors gathered together each Fall to celebrate the harvest and socialize with their friends and neighbors. The Portsmouth Historical Society keeps this tradition alive by holding an annual member’s Harvest Social, to be held at Greenvale Vineyards on 28 September, from 5:30-7:30 PM. Jim Garman, President of the Historical Society, will be on hand to discuss the current status of the Society and a brief history of the local “Gentleman Farms” to include Greenvale. Our host, Nancy Parker Wilson, will also be on hand to introduce the latest vintages of Greenvale Wines. This will be an evening of socializing and sampling Greenvale’s fine wines. All Portsmouth Historical Society members and their guests are invited to join in the fun.
